Hey everyone! I have been a bit MIA through much of December, but it was just crazy busy with Christmas and all. And life, life is just a roller coaster lately.
Anyway, my husband and I made it through our first holiday season in our new home, which we have now been in for a little over 6 months. We hosted Thanksgiving with my family and one of our three Christmas celebrations with Matt’s side of the family. I love hosting parties, so it was really fun just cooking and cleaning and making sure everything went smoothly.
I am not lying when I say that I’m happy 2016 is over. Don’t get me wrong, it had its upsides but the downsides are still looming and I’m still working on that. But! We moved into our house, I was on The Price Is Right (hugged and talked with Drew), got to have Matt see my family in California, we both turned 30, and we both have jobs. I got the chance to be a coach again with an amazing swim program, that was by far the best addition to my workload besides starting my own business. So much more to say….but I’m not going to go into it.
2017 is here and I for one am wiping my slate clean. I want this year to really be one for the books. I asked my husband last night as we had our final 2016 feast of scallops, lobster tails, and artichokes; I asked what should we accomplish this year? His first comment took me by surprise but we are hoping to get pregnant this year. That will be a huge change for us, but we are very excited. We also want to at the very least get our driveway done, the deck done and maybe some landscaping. I hope to make better on being more available for my friends this year as I know that last year with the house that did not happen as much as I may have wanted. And of course start saving money for our future.
In 2016 we learned that life will just happen, whether it is good or bad, it will happen. I may not be able to control what happens, but I will make do with it and stay strong. I have this one chance to make the best of it, and that’s exactly what I plan to do.
Start your New Year off right!
